Location

The Harwood Art Center is located at 1114 Seventh Street NW (Seventh and Mountain Road) just north of downtown Albuquerque. Activities take place in Escuela del Sol and Harwood’s classrooms, theater and dance studio. Lunch and snacks are scheduled on Escuela del Sol’s portico and playground.


Staff

All campers have counselors who stay with them during their various activities throughout the day and are there for them during before-care, after-care and lunch. All counselors are experienced with children and have a love of creative expression. The teachers are accomplished artists and performers who have professional artistic careers as well as experience working with children. Full class descriptions and teacher biographies are included in the parent manual.


Times

Full day and half day sessions are available. All sessions run Monday through Friday in two week blocks. Full Day programs run 9am to 4pm. Half day mornings are 9am to 12:10pm. Afternoon sessions begin at 12:50pm and run until 4pm.

Before-care is available for $6/hour (billed with a minimum of one hour) from 8 - 9 am.
After-care is available for $6/hour (billed with a minimum of one hour) from 4 - 5 pm. 


Fees

Each 2 week full day session..........$425 ($375 with Harwood Family Membership)
Each 2 week half day session..........$215 ($190 with Harwood Family Membership)
Before and After Care..........$6/hour
Scholarship Deadline..........May 3


Registration

We encourage you to register online via our main Art Camp page.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 per session is required.

Full payment of camp fees must be made no later than two weeks prior to the session in which the child is enrolled. Campers will be accepted for entire sessions only. Registrations will not be accepted without signature and deposit. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and are based on availability of space in each session. All registration will be handled by the Harwood office (242-6367). Billing will be handled by the Escuela del Sol business office (242-3033).

IF YOUR CHILD WANTS TO ATTEND WITH FRIENDS, PLEASE MAKE A NOTE ON THE REGISTRATION FORM.


No Refunds

There will be NO reduction of fees due to absence, illness or withdrawals. Harwood/Escuela del Sol reserves the right to suspend a child from camp if necessary.


Parent Manual

Parents of registered campers will be sent a camp manual in a confirmation package. The package will also include a confirmation of registration and session (please check this carefully to ensure it matches your records). Information in the parents manual will include teacher biographies, camp rules and regulations and pertinent information regarding your child’s camp experience.


Lunch and Snack

Parents should provide a lunch for children in a bag or box labeled with their child’s name. Please include a morning and afternoon snack in your child’s lunchbox.


Scholarships

All scholarship applications are due by Monday, May 16th

Scholarships may be requested for one session per child.

To apply please first register your child for art camp, including paying the deposit. If we are unable to give you a scholarship in an amount necessary for your child to attend, your deposit will be refunded.

Please submit the following shortly before or after your registration is completed:

1. A printout of your family's taxes from last year
2. A letter stating why you need a scholarship

Scholarships will be reviewed as a group after the deadline, and funds will be disbursed in as equitable a manner as possible. We will contact you as soon as the review is complete.
