Front Gallery: Flags

Joe Forrest Sackett

Flags are iconic, symbolizing many things to many people, but instantly recognizable by all, and capable of arresting the emotional attention of the viewer in ways few other images can.  Mr. Sackett long found this fact fascinating and artistically stimulating.  Why do these symbols have such power?  Why does the American flag, in particular, excite such a passionate response in the hearts of so many?  The constructions (and deconstructions) in this show are variations on a theme.  They’re inquiries into the mysterious power of the flag.

Albuquerque Academy Students

An exhibition of work by students in Advanced Placement art classes.  Using the skills and discipline of art, these students have worked to realize their individual visions through painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics photography and design.
