Dance with Miss Julianna

About the class
In this class, we will look briefly at a part of skeletal anatomy (such as the shoulder blade) in ways that are fun and engaging. Then, we will move our bodies, letting our skeletons inform our movement. We will learn some dances and create our own.

Supplies/Materials
Around 6 ft x 6 ft space, made safe for movement (ie no sharp objects, nothing to trip on, furniture moved out of the way if necessary)

About theTeaching Artist
Julianna Massa is a recent graduate from UNM with a BA in contemporary dance. In teaching as well as in performing and creating work, Julianna focuses on improvisation and somatic awareness as a means to bring meaning to dance. Julianna believes strongly in the importance of meeting students where they are and building classes that allow for each individual to create their own experience.
