About the Teaching Artist

Rose Marie Prins’ mixed-media paintings and sculptures have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in museums, cultural centers and galleries throughout the United States, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Jonson Gallery at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, the Bayly Art Museum at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville; the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida; the Gulf Coast Museum in Largo, Florida; the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe; the Bridge for Emerging Contemporary Art in New Orleans; Aljira, a Center for Contemporary Art in Newark, New Jersey; the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Sweet Briar and at Moulin à Nef, Auvillar, France; the Erector Square Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut; the Bridge Street Gallery in Big Fork Montana; the Courtyard Gallery in Alameda, California; the Merlin Gallery in San Francisco; the Woman’s Building in Los Angeles and the Johannesburg Art Gallery in South Africa.

Class Description

In this two day workshop students will explore cold wax painting incorporating a variety of media, both traditional and nontraditional. Participants will experiment with collage elements and found objects in two-dimensional and bas relief cold wax paintings.

This class will be held indoors on our campus near downtown Albuquerque. 1114 7th St NW 87102

When

Saturday April 22nd & Sunday April 23rd: 10am-5pm

*There will be a 45 minute lunch break*


Who

This class is appropriate for ages 18 and up

What to Bring

Old Photographs/memorabilia/ old drawings/old junk/craft items/dried flowers.

***$40 Materials fee is included in the cost of the class on eventbrite***

    Refund Policy

    Class Fee refunds will be issued on a case by case basis and requests must be emailed to Ruby (ruby@harwoodartcenter.org) at least one week prior to the start date of the class. The Class Fees will not be refunded if students request to withdraw from the workshop less than one week before the start date of the class or after the class has begun. If the class is cancelled by Harwood Art Center for any reason, the Class Fee will be refunded in full.
