About the Teaching Artist

Sara Asadi’s mandala teaching centers on creating an inclusive and therapeutic learning environment that fosters creativity, mindfulness, and personal growth, making it suitable for individuals of all skill levels.

With an extensive background in design spanning numerous years, she has acquired proficiency in various art forms. Since 2008, her professional focus has been dedicated to the creation of mandalas. Over the past year, she has established and successfully managed her own business, strategically promoting her mandala art. Additionally, she has been actively engaged in imparting the fundamentals of dot mandala creation to beginners through teaching initiatives.

Class Description

In this advanced class, you will elevate your dot mandala skills to new heights, building upon the foundation laid in the Basic Dot Mandala class. You’ll delve into a world of intricate designs, exploring advanced dotting techniques that add depth, detail, and dimension to your artwork. Throughout the session, you’ll experiment with a variety of tools and materials, including mirrors, fine line brushes, gemstones, stencils, plaster, resin, black light, and glow-in-the-dark elements. You’ll learn to troubleshoot common issues, master advanced dotting tools, and create gradients and shading with dots. You’ll also explore the use of negative space, layering dots for maximum impact, and the principles of color theory in dot mandala art. By the end of the class, you’ll have refined your dot mandala skills and created a more complex and detailed dot mandala design. You’ll be equipped to continue exploring advanced dot mandala art on your own or to sign up for complementary classes in the future.

Who

This class is appropriate for teens (15-19) and adults (20 and up) of an intermidiate skill level. It is recommended that absolute beginners register for the Dot Mandala Fundementals workshop scheduled on Thursday April 25th.

Refund Policy

Class Fee refunds will be issued on a case by case basis and requests must be emailed to Ruby (ruby@harwoodartcenter.org) at least one week prior to the start date of the class. The Class Fees will not be refunded if students request to withdraw from the workshop less than one week before the start date of the class or after the class has begun. If the class is cancelled by Harwood Art Center for any reason, the Class Fee will be refunded in full.
